Hey guys. I finally got a table saw. A RIGID TS-3650. I wrote a review. Hopefully, someone here can use it. Here's the link to my site, TS 3650. I have the review in PDF format. If anyone is interested just pm me.

Hey Nay,

In my opinion, you have made an excellent choice! I don’t own the TS-3650.
However, I do own 4 other Rigid power tools.

1. 14" Band Saw
2. 6" Planer
3. Oscillating Spindle Sander (one of my favorites)
4. 12" Compound Sliding Miter Saw with collapsible mobile stand

I love every one of these tools, and I’m extremely happy with their operation and performance!
I use them on a regular basis in business of residential home building, log furniture, and, of course, Guitar building!
They are real work horses!

You got to hand it to China, they are becoming quite a competitor in the power tool market.
The only negative I see, is that darn safety guard. I know if it were mine, I’d be yanking that thing off!

On another note; Great job on your journal! Very professionally done! It’s going to be a great research tool for you!
Also, thanks for being so gentlemanly, and sharing it here at the OLF!

I got the feeling you don’t live to far from me. Do you know where “Cloudland Canyon” is?

Robert: Thanks! I've been looking at the Rigid drill press, bandsaw and OSS. I think Serge had problems with his drill press, though. I've only heard good things about the bandsaw and OSS. I've not heard of "Cloudland Canyon". I'm in Huntsville, so I'm kind of in the North Middle of the state." I looked it up on the map. I've been through that area. I'm about 45 minutes from the state line.

Terry: No problem. All of the reviews I had found talked about performance. That was pretty much par for all saws I looked at. One thing that I was worried about was assembly and setup difficulty, especially for a newbie like me. If you have any specific questions about the saw feel free to pm me. Or just ask here

Nathan, I am pretty sure the tool that Serge had trouble with was the 14" Rigid bandsaw. He'll probably chime in here and answer that himself before long though.

I, too, have this table saw. I use an Incra miter/fence with it. I was so surprised that mine was truly squared up, out of the carton- when I set up the castiron wings, they too set up dead flat.. The step mobile base is a dream to use. I did replace the blade with a thin kerf Forrest . This saw, for its price, has been called the closest thing to cabinet performance in a contractor style saw.
        On the Woodnet Forums, this is the most respected contractor saw discussed. Dust control could use refinement, but with a good DC unit, it is not too bad.mt

Great! 2 users! Did Ridgid fix the arbor issue, related to using a dado set? That complaint was from a couple years ago on the Ridgid forum. Wondering if they resolved it.

I too want an incra miter!

Terry, the way I understand it, yes Rigid fixed the arbor issue in '04 or '05 (I can't remember). They did offer free replacement arbors to the users that ended up with the arbor issue. I haven't made it to stacked dado use yet, but I did look at the arbor on my saw and I didn't see the flat that was talked about on the Rigid forums.

When I get into some more money, I have my eyes set on that model. And of course, the incra mitre!

Hey Nay,

I know just where you are. I use the Huntsville Radar at NOAA to gauge my weather.
Usually, what ever goes through Huntsville makes it’s way to Ellijay.

As for, “Cloudland Canyon” if you enjoy hiking, it’s one of the prettiest State Parks we’ve ever been to.
It is a true canyon, with a waterfall at the center of the canyon. That is, if you don’t mind walking
down about 700 steps!
My wife and I, along with our boys (7 & 4) walked the rim trail this past October.
We got a real thing for hiking. Before the boys were born, my wife and I hiked quite a bit of North Georgia.

Sorry, this has nothing to do with tools. Just thought I’d mention it.
